Houria Cook-Along!

Kim and Salha Cook-Along

This week we have been spreading the Houria word across the UK, via an online Cook-Along. We partnered with the organisation 91 Ways to deliver a cookery class to the team at Bevan Brittan law firm.

On Wednesday 28th October 27 lawyers participated from their homes around the UK to learn how to make Houria’s legendary Aswad Salad (aubergine and peanut curry) from our trainee chef Salha Abdullah. It was a fantastic opportunity for us to platform Salha’s talent, native cuisine and stories for Black History Month and to bring disparate communities together, a value we share with 91 Ways.

This event went down a treat! We had wonderful comments about the class:

“This was the best thing I’ve done in 2020!”

“I found the class very calming and my food smells amazing.”

“This was the best online event I’ve ever done. Thank you.”

We look forward to many more tasty collaborations with different organisations in the future. If you'd like to set up an online Cook-Along event for your organisation or party please contact us and we'll be happy to provide.

We will also be organising a public class in November this year. Keep checking our website for ticket information.
