Enrol Yourself Launches Mega Marathons and an Inclusion Strategy to Match

Enrol Yourself is an organisation that runs Learning Marathons for adults in the UK beyond.

Houria’s Executive Director Kim participated in one of these learning experiences last year in Bristol. It was during the Learning Marathon that Kim launched what is now known as Houria CIC. In the Learning Marathons, a dozen people gather together over six months and share ideas, resources, energy as they each explore a question that really matters to them.

Kim’s question was: How can I best serve the antislavery movement whilst being a successful mother and also earn a living?

In 2021 Enrol Yourself is launching a bumper crop of Learning Marathons; a real, hopeful antidote to the challenging and strange times of 2020. Enrol Yourself have recruited and trained 21 new Hosts, who have each developed unique propositions for a Learning Marathon which they will lead next year. And now they are recruiting their participants! Here are the Learning Marathon listings for 2021.

To match the multitude of Learning Marathons on offer, Enrol Yourself have amplified their inclusion strategy. This year they are crowdfunding for 20, fully-funded bursary places, i.e. 20 totally FREE places on the 2021 Learning Marathons.

Co Founder and Director of Enrol Yourself, Zahra says: “2020 has been a phenomenally hard year, and 2021 will no doubt bring more challenges for many more people. It’s so important to open up access to supportive learning communities at this time of collective transition.”

If you are in a position to donate to this incredible call for inclusive learning then please do so via this link.

Inclusion is something that can only be done in collaboration with others. So, together, Enrol Yourself will be offering the following bursaries:

Enrol Yourself Abundancy Coalition

In addition to these bursaries offered in partnership, there are also some partially funded bursaries available to people who identify as being from an underrepresented background, including but not limited to POC, LGBTQ, disabled, refugee or asylum seeker. Learning Marathon Hosts can answer questions about eligibility.

As Houria CIC can vouch for, the Learning Marathons offer a rare and powerful learning opportunity. Kim accessed a bursary in order to participate on the programme, and she says of the experience: "I am indebted to Zahra, Anna and my Enrol Yourself crew who ushered me into this new and epic year of leadership. Definitely a highlight of the decade!"
