Winning the University of Bristol’s Community Impact Award 2024

Kim’s acceptance speech from the awards event in April 2024

Each year, the University of Bristol honours a small handful of alumni who have made remarkable contributions to society through their Alumni Awards. Our Founder and Director, Kim Prado, who graduated with a BSc from the University in 2020, was selected for the honour this year in recognition of her work as an advocate for refugees and asylum seekers, providing safe employment and training to migrant women through Houria.

The Houria Team are all so proud of Kim and her achievement and feel that this award is not only truly deserved, but recognises the positive social impact that Houria is having in the community. Well done Kim!
